Biography

Dr. MacIntyre was awarded an Honors BSc in Human Biology and Archaeological Science by the University of Toronto in 2004 before moving to Nova Scotia to attend medical school at Dalhousie University in 2008. She completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Halifax before moving to Boston for a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Following this, she completed an additional fellowship in Genetic  cardiology/Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota with Dr. Michael Ackerman. Since 2017, she has held an academic appointment at Dalhousie University as associate professor. She is the director of the Inherited Heart Disease program at the QEII. She is also on the national executive committee for the Hearts in Rhythm Organization (HiRO) for inherited heart disease.
