
Elizabeth Swiggum
Dr. Elizabeth Swiggum is a Cardiologist, heart failure specialist and the Medical Director of the Heart Function Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. She is the Medical Chair for Heart Failure and Chronic Cardiovascular Disease at Cardiac Services BC and is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia.
National contributions include the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Guidelines for Heart Failure. She has been involved in many clinical research trials related to HF including pharmacotherapy, device therapy and stem cell treatment. Dr. Swiggum continues to advocate for prevention of cardiovascular disease through Cardiac Rehabilitation Strategic Planning. She, herself, leads a very active life including marathon running, having completed her 12th marathon in Victoria, October 2018, winning first in her age group.
